Our commitment to sports
Techem has been a committed sponsor of sports since 1993. In 2003 the company started focusing on biathlon, speed skating, bobsledding, luge racing and canoeing.
These sports are a perfect match for Techem as they emphasise cold and water. Techem sponsors major competitions such as the 6–day race in Berlin, the canoeing world championships and the Potsdam canal sprint.
Our focus continues to be on the athletes themselves. We provide long-term support to young talented athletes, some of whom are now very successful, including Jenny Wolf, André Lange and Daniela Anschütz-Thoms.
Techem also supports the national biathlon teams in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia.
Canoe World Championship 2010
Techem has supported the Canoe World Championships as a premium partner since 2007.
The 2010 ICF Canoe World Championships were held 19-23 August 2010 in Poznan/Poland. A total 2,200 meter course had been arranged for the competitions on lake Malta.
The German canoeist Franziska Weber, sponsored by us, was delighted at winning the K1 1000m women. The German team from Postdam reached great results and went home with 3 titles and 4 further medals in total.
