Two strong partners – a secure solution for you

In many residential properties, regular testing of the tap water for legionella concentration is mandatory. This is required by the German Drinking Water Ordinance. In cooperation with an accredited laboratory, we offer you customized services that enable you to meet the legal requirements. So you are on the safe side.

How does Techem’s legionella testing work?

Our services for legionella testing are modular. We advise you in detail and put together the right service package for your needs. Whether as an individual service or as a complete package, we would be happy to manage this for you:

  • Inspection: If necessary, commissioned experts will inspect your drinking water system and record the relevant sampling points.
  • Sampling and analysis: Our cooperation partner will take the required samples and subsequently carry out the drinking water analysis for legionella.
  • Provide laboratory findings: You will receive the laboratory findings and, upon request, we will provide house notices and cover letters to inform the tenants.
  • Consultation: In the case of a positive result, we will advise you on the procedure and solutions.

Which properties fall under the obligation of legionella testing?

You can find out whether your residential property is affected by the Drinking Water Ordinance quite easily. You are subject to mandatory legionella testing if:

  • Your property has three or more residential units and
  • At least one residential unit is rented and
  • Shower facilities exist and
  • A central drinking water heating system is available and
  • There are more than 400 liters of storage volume or more than three liters of content between the drinking water meter and the last tapping point.

All five points are fulfilled? We will be happy to inform you of your corresponding obligations regarding legionella testing. Together with our partner SGS Institut Fresenius, we provide professional support for this task.
