Measures and targets

At Techem, social responsibility is put into practice through concrete measures and programs. The focus is on attractive working conditions, diversity and equal opportunity, health and safety, continuing education, data protection, and social engagement.

Techem aims to create a work environment where employees enjoy working and feel a sense of connection to their tasks, teams, and opportunities for growth. To measure employee satisfaction and retention, Techem conducts group-wide employee surveys and calculates the Employee Net Promoter Score. In fiscal year 2025, the Techem Group’s eNPS was +25, placing it in positive range. Based on the results, targeted measures are developed within the teams and national subsidiaries.

Techem promotes an inclusive and diverse work environment through awareness-raising, fair conditions, and a clear zero-tolerance stance toward discriminatory behavior. A publicly available Diversity and Anti-Discrimination Policy outlines the principles and scope of application. The Diversity Roadmap brings together measures, goals, and KPIs. These include, among other things, diversity-conscious recruiting, gender-neutral job postings, offering positions on both a full-time and part-time basis, and training on diversity and inclusive leadership.

Safe working conditions are an essential component of social responsibility. Techem offers role- and task-specific safety briefings and training. New employees receive initial safety briefings; depending on their job duties, additional mandatory training is provided. Technical customer service representatives are also trained on specific accident risks and the handling of hazardous substances. International locations also conduct occupational safety training tailored to their respective local risk profiles.

Techem supports its employees through a wide range of learning and development opportunities. Through the Learning Management System, employees across the organization have access to learning opportunities that strengthen relevant technical, methodological, and future-oriented skills. In fiscal year 2025, the Techem Academy offered 1,828 courses company-wide, 94% of which were in digital format. The offerings include, among other things, digital skills, AI knowledge, leadership, project and team management, agile methods, energy management, diversity, and resilience. Techem invests in recruiting and developing young talent. This includes internships, vocational training, dual degree programs, work-study programs, and trainee programs. In addition, Techem is involved in career orientation initiatives, such as programs for high school students and events like Boys’ & Girls’ Day.

Techem supports employees in balancing their careers, families, and different stages of life. This support is based on the applicable national labor and social welfare laws in the countries where Techem operates. In addition, Techem promotes a family-friendly work culture through flexible work models, remote work options, part-time opportunities, and individualized solutions tailored to different life stages.

In Germany, Techem was awarded the “audit berufundfamilie” certificate in 2023. The audit is a certification recognized throughout Germany for promoting family-friendly human resources policies. As part of the program, Techem implements measures that strengthen the work-life balance—including empowering managers, promoting diverse career paths, and supporting flexible work arrangements in terms of location and hours.

Parental leave is available to eligible employees regardless of gender, and Techem supports employees’ return to work after family-related leave. This is based on the applicable national labor and social security regulations in the countries where Techem operates.

Techem is committed to giving back to society in a variety of ways. For example, we support the Water is Right Foundation, which works to improve access to clean drinking water. For every cubic meter of water consumed at our company, we donate one euro to our partner organization.

To help preserve biodiversity, we have sponsored a beekeeping program. Thanks to the Bienenbotschaft (German only), we were able to set up two of our own beehives in our company garden.

As a sponsor of the Energiesparmeister (German only) competition, we support the most creative and sustainable climate protection projects at German schools. Every year, we assist our partner school in implementing its project.

Our awards, networks, and partnerships reflect our strong commitment to sustainability.
